Check the National Association of Home Inspectors website for licensed home inspectors

Dear Glenn: I've submitted an offer on a 10-year-old home. I've just found out that the home was built by the current owner, who is not a licensed builder. I'm in need of a home inspection. Can you point me in the right direction?

Dear Mark: You should check out the National Association of Home Inspectors website, www.nahi.org. At the bottom of the homepage is a current list of home inspectors by state. Just click on Michigan to find an inspector in your area. All the home inspectors listed are part of the association.
