Contact lumberyard for carpenter referral

Dear Glenn: My husband and just purchased our first home a year ago. We're putting new Bella hardwood floors in ourselves and are now at the point where the staircase needs to be addressed.

Addressed is a bad word; the whole staircase needs to be replaced. We're having a tough time finding a reputable carpenter to come into our east side home.

Do you have any recommendations? Thank you so much for the help.

Dear Beth: I took my own advice and talked with a very reputable lumberyard to ask for a referral of someone they know who could do the job.

After talking with the people at Johns Lumber, they recommended you call Joe at Emerald Coast Building, (586) 615-4871. Joe told me that they just finished installing a staircase.
