Use past article for humidity help
Dear Glenn: We have a newer home. We use a propane furnace-heat pump combination to heat our home. Most days we set the thermostat to 69 degrees and we feel fine. However, the other day my wife and I felt cold even though the temperature read 70 degrees. How does humidity come into play for comfort in our home? I seem to read contradictory things on the Internet that indicate I should have higher humidity to feel comfortable and others saying to lower humidity. What are your thoughts?
Dear Chad: Remember, when it comes to total comfort in your home, "it's not the heat, it's the humidity." Check out my article titled "Adjust Humidity for Comfort," which I wrote on 1/29/2010. You can find it on my help site, www.masterhandyman.com. Just type the word "humidity" in the "Get help from the handyman" box on the top of the page and it will give you a list of articles that will include the one you need. For additional help, go to the General Aire website, www.generalaire.com, and check out their new humidification calculator under the Support tab on the home page.
