Latex crack filler can solve driveway problem

Dear Glenn: I have a driveway alongside the house. The previous owner put tar along the edge of the cement driveway and house. This was very old and cracked so I have removed all of it. The foundation of the home now has fieldstone on it, creating a gap that is raised above the driveway. The gap between the driveway and house is approximately 1.5 inches to about a half-inch. Is there something better than trying to re-tar this gap? Ideally, I think something like clay or putty that I could form and push along the edge of the house would work the easiest.

Barbara, Harper Woods

Dear Barbara: I have the perfect product for your problem. It is called Latex-ite Pli-Stix by Dalton Enterprises, (800) 851-5606, www.latexite.com. It is a permanent fix because it is applied with a hand-held torch and it bonds to the sidewalls of the crack. It will expand and contract along with the concrete.
